International Symposium on Heavy Ion Physics 2006

Heavy Ion Physics - Gateway to the Unknown: Complex Structures in Elementary Matter

April 3 – April 6, 2006

Frankfurt am Main, Germany

The "International Symposium on Heavy Ion Physics", ISHIP2006, will be held on the Science Campus Riedberg of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main.

The symposium will bring together leading experts working in various areas of heavy ion physics and related subjects. Both experimental and theoretical researchers will outline the status of research in this wide field, reflect on the history, and outline future goals.

ISHIP2006 will cover recent developments in heavy ion physics from the Coulomb Barrier to ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions.

Topics
  • Superheavy elements
  • Exotic nuclear structure
  • Nuclear astrophysics
  • The nuclear equation of state
  • The Quark Gluon Plasma
  • Exotic hadronic states with strangeness and charm
  • Astroparticle physics and cosmology
